Private Mediation

There are no requirements to accept private clients as a mediator. Erin’s class will teach you all the basics to begin mediating, including recommendations for advanced topics you should consider in your private practice.

Court Rosters:

Erin’s course exceeds the requirements for Basic Skills course required by Rule 1:40-12 (b)(3), but has not been approved by the courts. There is additional training required to mediate certain types of cases including Family Part Actions; Civil, General Equity, and Probate Actions; Civil and Family Part Matters.

Community Dispute Resolution Centers (CDRC)

Erin’s class appears to exceed the requirements, but you should check your local CDRC about whether they accept external trainings.
