Private Mediation
There are no requirements to accept private clients as a mediator. Erin’s class will teach you all the basics to begin mediating, including recommendations for advanced topics you should consider in your private practice.
Court Rosters:
Erin’s course exceeds the requirements for mediation training required by MD Rules, Rule 17-104. There appears to be no requirement that the course be approved. Erin is in the process of confirming that information with the Maryland Courts.
The Maryland Program for Mediator Excellence (MPME) outlines a clear path about how to become a mediator.
Important Rules
Community Dispute Resolution Centers (CDRC)
Erin’s class appears to exceed the requirements, but you should check your local CDRC about whether they accept external trainings.
